Snowbird Sando bags started their quarterfinals by scoring a big come from behind win over Kanzai Auto Supply 53-51 last Sunday in the Grace Alumni Basketball League (GABL) World Balance Cup at Philippine Buddhacare Academy Gym in Quezon City.
Kanzai entered the fourth quarter comfortably ahead by 20 points (46-26) but managed to score only 5 points in the pay off period, while Snowbird went on a 27 point scoring avalanche.
Snowbird was led by Bryan Bernabe’s game-high 18 points but it was Dayle Ng’s big basket of a Rendel Ching assist that broke the 51 point deadlock with less than 3 seconds left in regulation. Jet See actually had a chance to win it for Kanzai but his desperation attempt from the three point area did not go in. Glendon Co paced Kanzai, who suffered their second loss in 8 games, with 10 points.
In other games, Uhr Kraft Watch remained unbeaten with a 69-66 win over Kopinando. Wishcraft notched their fourth win at the expense of Alex Shoes 70-63 and Gerry’s Grille forced a three way tie at second place by defeating Mega Allied Canvass Corp 54-46.
